Mario Dots
2008-08-22 - by Noswal RM
After last months 8-bit tie, I'm starting to appreciate my old pixelated roots. Simpler times, when imagination played as much a part as iron thumbs and dogged determination. Now you can create and keep your very own slice of the good times, with these 8-bit puzzle boards. Each comes with a supply of different coloured square pegs, and you can create miniature scenes from Super Mario Land. Available in Mario and Luigi versions.
But why on earth would you want Luigi?

Sun/Moon Jar
An environmentally friendly alternative to a regular night-light or garden lamp, the Sun Jar is exactly what it says on the tin! Built into the frosted, hinge topped jar (like granny used to have in her pantry) is a solar battery cell and LED lights. Simply leave the jar in the sun to charge it up, then at night it releases a warm amber glow for hours. Perfect for reading in bed or the bath, or in the garden for outdoor parties. The Moon Jar works on the same principle, only it has a pale blue glow when the sun goes down. Try one on a child's bedside table, or wiring a thousand together to absorb the full, terrifying force of the sun, and be worshipped and feared by millions.firebox.com

Art Deco Desk Fan
I find most modern product design painfully boring. With all the media and culture and style we have lying around, it's a shame inspiration is only ever drawn from Apple and its iPod.

Harry Organizer
This freaky looking mess is actually a handy mess once you get past its repellant appearance. Made of rubber coated wires, each shiny black tendril can be positioned to cradle whatever trendy little gizmo you want to show off, holding their shape until you upgrade to the inevitably smaller, pricier version. Capable of being wall mounted, the wires can be bent into coat hangers and key hooks too. I'd even bet you could fashion them into a sort of crown, and declare yourself 'King of The Bus To Work'. Not that anyone would listen. They'd probably just think you're a mental.
